MINTO – The Town of Minto Cultural Roundtable is partnering with the Harriston-Minto Agricultural Society to host a “Cultures and Foods of Minto” event during the 2023 fall fair. The event is part of the overall theme, “Around the World in Three Fair Days,” for the Harriston Minto Fall Fair, set for Sept. 15 to 17.

The Cultures and Food of Minto event will be held in the curling arena portion of the Harriston-Minto Community Complex and feature booths where local residents and group and highlight elements of the diverse local culture.

“There will be displays from people from various cultures within Minto and we’re going to have some people provide food samples,” said cultural roundtable chair Peggy Raftis, who noted live entertainment and demonstrations will also be part of the experience.

“We want people to come and experience the variety of cultures we have in our community,” she added.

All community members interested in sharing their culture through food, workshops, demonstrations, performances and other means are invited to participate.

Anyone interested in hosting a booth, or seeking more information, is urged to contact Minto marketing and community development coordinator Erin Raftis at erin@town.minto.on.ca or 519-338-2511 ext. 242 by May 15 at 5pm.
