Palmerston Marlins off to Quebec after third place finish in provincial tournament

The Palmerston Marlin 91s are on their way to the 2009 Midget Girls Eastern Canadian Championships from Aug. 27 to 30 in Ille-Perrot, Quebec.

This group of talented ball players earned the right to attend the tournament by taking home the bronze medal at the provincial tournament held in Ancaster Aug. 7 to 9.

The team consist of 12 girls from the surrounding ares including Palmerston, Harriston, Brussels, Ethel, Dublin, Exeter, Teeswater, Wiarton and Hanover.

They are truly proud to be one of four teams representing Ontario in this upcoming tournament.

The girls will will be busy fundraising to help cover some of their tournament expenses and plan to hold barbecues on Aug. 21 and 22 at the local L&M Markets in Harriston and Palmerston. They would appreciate any and all donations.
