Paddle against diabetes

The Paddle Against Diabetes fundraising event will be on July 6 this year at Belwood Lake Conservation Area.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Groves hospital diabetes program. Advance registration is $25 and the deadline is July 3. Regular registration begins at 9:30am the day of the event and costs $30. Participants can canoe from 10am until noon, with healthy snacks provided afterwards.

There will also be a discussion about healthy active living by the First Nations, with drumming hosted by Rachel Lee Wilson. Activities for all ages will be available during the paddle, but children and youth must be accompanied by an adult. Children must be eight years old to participate.
