Orton woman wins Princess Margaret lottery grand prize

ORTON – A woman from Orton is the grand prize winner in the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation’s spring lottery.

Sheryl Hagerman won the $6.8 million grand prize, which includes a show home in King City, a lakefront cottage in the Kawartha Lakes, and $500,000 in cash.

Other winners announced on May 14 include Deana Ruddell of Peterborough, who won $2.9 million in the lottery’s 50-50 jackpot, and Carol Kent of Bobcaygeon, who won a country home in Prince Edward County worth $1.1 million plus $25,000 in cash.

Funds raised through the lottery are used to support research at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
