Organics harvest feast Sept. 13

The fifth annual organic harvest feast will take place on Sept. 13 at Loyola House, on the grounds of the Ignatius Jesuit Centre, located a half kilometre north of here on Highway 6.

Cocktails begin at 5pm and dinner is at 6. Tickets are $90.

Guest Speakers are spiritual directors Barbara and Peter Peloso, with music by Peter Tigchelaar.

“This year has brought a great amount of change and growth to the Ignatius Jesuit Centre and our annual harvest feast will provide a great opportunity for celebration,” said director Jim Profit.

The centre is introducing many new programs and opportunities in the coming year and the evening will focus on those changes. The Pelosos bring more than 20 years of association with Ignatian spirituality to the evening’s talk.

Ignatius Farm’s Heather Lekx, said, “This year’s weather has brought one of the most bountiful harvests in recent years.”

That produce, along with donations from local organic companies, provide the menu each year.

Conference and food services manager Lisa Calzonetti brings more than a decade of culinary experience to the event. She is delighted to be creating the menu for the first time this year.

Proceeds will support the work of the Ignatius Jesuit Centre. For more information, visit www.ignatiusguelph.ca.
