OPP: young man dead after falling from moving truck
On March 17 at about 10pm emergency crews responded to a call for an injured person near George Street South here.
Police say initial reports indicated a man had fallen from the tailgate of a moving pickup truck at the Harriston arena and suffered life-threatening injuries.
Derril Cecil James Hoover, 22, of Harriston, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say technical collision investigators were called in to assist with the investigation and charges may be pending.
“OPP can confirm that the driver of the pickup truck was not under the influence of alcohol,” police stated in a press release.
