OPP urge motorists to secure vehicles.

In the past week, the Wellington County OPP has received several reports of thefts during the night from vehicles parked at residences in the Town of Erin.

OPP continue to encourage vehicle owners to be vigilant in securing autos when not in use, and also remove or hide valuables.  Following a couple valuable tips may prevent you from becoming a victim of crime.

Police are asking motorists to:

– never leave your auto unlocked while unattended;

– never leave your keys in the vehicle;

– always park in a well-lit area;

– never leave valuable objects in plain view (remove them or secure them in the trunk); and

– protect your vehicle from theft, always roll up your windows.

The County of Wellington OPP remind all vehicle owners – “Lock it or lose It.”
