FERGUS - Police are looking to identify three suspects who took a senior citizen’s wallet and then stole about $15,000 from her bank accounts.

The incident occurred at the Fergus Walmart on St. David Street North (Highway 6) on Feb. 20.

Police say two men and one woman “sneakily watched” while an 82-year-old woman entered her bank card PIN during a purchase.

“The ploy continued into the parking lot, where the three distracted her by implying that she had a flat tire … when she returned to her car from returning her cart her wallet was gone,” states an OPP press release.

The next day the woman was told someone had stolen $15,000 from her accounts.

Police are asking for help to identify the three suspects caught on video surveillance.

Anyone who recognizes them can call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
