An open house is planned for the barn in Mount Forest rebuilt after a January fire.

On Jan. 14, Doris and Rob Woolner discovered their barn, with 13 horses inside, on fire. The Woolners attempted to rescue the horses, but only one escaped.

Now, 10 months later, the barn has been rebuilt.

The Woolner’s are hosting a open house on Oct. 15 and 16 from 12 to 5pm. Food will be available.

The open house is to show “our appreciation to all the support that we had,” said Dorris.

A plaque honouring the loss of the 12 horses is displayed inside the barn.

Everyone is welcome.
