One dead, one injured following serious crash in Puslinch

PUSLINCH –  A Guelph man has died and another person was injured in a serious car crash here on Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at the intersection of Watson Road and Maltby Road in Puslinch Township on Aug. 6 at about 4:15pm.

Wellington County OPP officials say a southbound vehicle collided with an eastbound vehicle.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle - later identified as William Irving, 95, of Guelph - was pronounced deceased at the scene, police stated in a press release.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Watson Road was closed between Wellington Road 34 and Hume Road and Maltby Road was closed between Victoria Road and the Concession 11 while police investigated.

The OPP is asking anyone that may have witnessed the collision to call 1-888-310-1122.
