Olympic athletes at In Motion on Oct. 4
Five Olympic athletes who competed on the Canadian Team in track and field, trampoline, swimming, road cycling, and archery in Beijing this past summer will join the In Motion Family walk here on Oct. 4.
The walk is sponsored by several community groups and is a “Trails Open Ontario 2008” event.
The walk is also the kick-off event for the Township of Centre Wellington’s “In Motion” week. Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health is providing healthy snacks for the walk.
In Motion is sponsored by the township recreation department, which wants to get people In Motion and physically fit.
In Motion includes a week of activities.
Last year, Centre Wellington helped Ontario set a world record for the most people walking one kilometre at one time. Australia plans to break it again this year.
