Oldfield, Kathyrn Charlotte (nee Hughes)
Oldfield, Kathyrn Charlotte (nee Hughes); at Stratford General Hospital on March 21st, 2011, the first day of spring. Her family was by her side. Kathyrn was the loving wife for 62 years of Dr. J. Bruce Oldfield. She was a wonderful much loved mother to Dr. Robert (Jane) Oldfield of Kingston; Lynda (George) White of Arthur; and David (Susan) of Fergus. Cherished Grandmother to Kerri Duxbury; Barbra Wagg (Ken); Natalie vonTeichman (Andrew); Lauren Oldfield; and Lesley McClement (Jay) and great grandmother to Brittani; Alexandrea; Brandon; Alana; Kaitlyn and William. Kathryn was in her 83rd year. Kay as she was affectionately known will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the nurses at Groves Memorial Hospital, the wonderful caring nursing staff at Stratford General Hospital Critical Care Unit, and a special thank you to Dr. Matt Westendorp for his care and dedication. Visitation was at Graham Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Jack Tweddle at Melville United Church in Fergus on Thursday, March 24th, 2011 at 11am. Memorial donations to Groves Memorial Community Hospital - CT Fund or to a charity of your choice. “A light has gone out in the Oldfield family”.
