Officials can not confirm tornado

An Environment Canada meteorologist said a tornado reported in the area around 6:30pm on Aug. 20 may not have been a tornado after all.

Geoff Coulson said last week Environment Canada is trying to track down the person who took the video of the reported tornado.

“The video is showing rotation, but not enough to do any damage,” Coulson told the Advertiser. “It’s looking less and less possible to have anything tangible.”

As of Aug. 22 Environment Canada officials had received no damage reports and asked anyone with damage information to email storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca.
