Numerous events at museum this summer

The Wellington County Museum and Archives is hosting some wonderful events for the whole family this summer.

Visitors and guests can enjoy great afternoons or evenings entertainment.

July begins with the Summer Pleasures program every Wednesday afternoon from 1pm until 4pm.

This year the museum is celebrating the collection’s 60th birthday party on July 2, then from bees to bugs, dog shows to kids’ shows and candy making, there truly is something for everyone.

Admission is by donation unless otherwise stated, and some events require registration.

The Concerts on the Stairs series is back again this year. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy unique music on the front stairs of the Museum from 7-8pm.

Admission is by donation and if the weather doesn’t co-operate the concerts will be held in the historic barn.

Here’s the schedule: Aug. 7 – McCairley and MacLean, Aug. 14 – the Moore Brothers, Aug. 21 – Grand River Brass, Aug. 28 – Same Latitude as Rome.

The annual Antique and Classic Car Show returns as always on Sunday Aug. 24, rain or shine, 1-5pm.

Watch for the parade of cars, Elvis(!), charity barbecue and a variety of entertainment including Fergus Brass Band. Admission is $5.

The museum is accessible from the trail from both Elora and Fergus making it a nice destination for an afternoon stroll. www.wellington.ca/museum for more info.
