Corteva Agriscience, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont recently donated $3,500 to Norwell District Secondary School  as part of its Growing Today, Leading Tomorrow program.

The grant will help offset start-up costs of the school’s new LEAF (Local, Environmental, Agriculture and Food) program, set to launch in September 2018.

“Corteva Agriscience is keen to support programs such as LEAF that give students opportunities to see first-hand who is growing their food and how that food is being produced,” said Blair Freeman, territory manager for the company.

“Our students in the LEAF program will learn how farmers are good stewards of the environment that care for the water, air and biodiversity,” said teacher Paul Frayne.

“We appreciate the contribution from Corteva Agriscience, as this program will not only provide hands-on learning but also impact the conversations these students have with their peers and parents about agriculture and food.”
