Norwell grad to receive WI scholarship
The Wellington North District Women’s Institute has announced Paige Turton is the 2009 WI scholarship winner.
Turton is an honours graduate of Norwell District Secondary School and was actively involved in student and athletic councils and attended leadership camps.
She participated in various school Sports, was captain of the senior girls volleyball team and is a member of the Palmerston Marlin 91’s midget fastball team.
Turton has done much volunteering in her community and is a junior board director for the Harriston Minto Fall Fair. She is the daughter of Pamela and David Turton, of Harriston, and is attending The University of Western Ontario in the bio medicine program.
The $300 scholarship, based on merit, diligence, good character, and leadership, will be presented at the Norwell District Secondary School commencement next month.
