Norwell Dairy bylaw approved
It appears Norwell Dairy can now proceed with plans to relocate and expand its facility.
Last week Mapleton council approved a zoning bylaw amendment to redesignate seven acres of prime farmland to a rural industrial zoning to allow the changes.
Norwell Dairy, located on County?Road 8 just southeast of Drayton, wants to build a new shop, office building and storage area on land immediately southeast of the adjacent Mar-Span Home Hardware store. Mar-Span, a truss building company, will acquire the existing Norwell facility.
County council approved an official plan amendment in?December, which combined with Mapleton council’s decision on?Jan. 26, should allow Norwell Dairy to proceed with its plans.
