Northern food banks showered with food

Local food banks were once again blessed with showers of food due to the effort of clients and employees of six area Royal Banks throughout Nov. 28 to Dec. 9.

The Arthur Hub of the Arthur, Moorefield, and Drayton branches challenged the Listowel Hub of Listowel, Harriston, and Clifford to bring in the most cans, boxes, and bags of food for the local food banks with a $100 prize from the Bank on the line for the winner.

The Arthur Hub merged victorious, but the people who will benefit from the challenge are the true winners.

Christmas hampers will be topped off with food and toys making a very special Christmas for area families.

Branch Manager Marc Leblond and the staff at the Harriston Branch are very appreciative of the support and find this a great way to add a little merriment and joy to the kind and generous act of giving food and toys to others in need.
