PERTH-WELLINGTON – North Wellington Health Care which operates hospitals in Mount Forest and Palmerston will receive a $343,400 share of new funding designed to benefit small and medium-sized hospitals.

The new funding for 2020-21 represents a two per cent increase for NWHC, states a June 9 press release from Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece.

The funds are part of $3.4 allocated to hospitals across the Perth-Wellington riding, including hospitals in Listowel, Stratford and St. Marys.

“We rely on our local hospitals,” said Pettapiece. “In this time of COVID-19, we need them even more. That is why I am so pleased this provincial government is supporting them.

“But the new funds are not just numbers on a balance sheet. It is an investment in the dedicated health care professionals working so hard in every corner of our riding. I want to thank every one of them. They are providing excellent care despite really challenging circumstances.”
