NIXON, John Hillyard “Bruce”; Passed away peacefully at home in Norval on November 1, 2016 at the age of 88 surrounded by the love of his family. Beloved husband of Aileen for 67 years, proud father and loved father-in-law of Linda, Susan & Russell, Gail & Jim, Carol & John, John & Cathy, Jane & John, and Jennifer & Tim; cherished grampa of Tom & Nan, Rob, Christine & Jay, Joseph & Julie, Steven, Cameron, Gillian & Paul-Francis, Tara & Paul, Jamie & Danielle, Shannon & Mark, Jayme & Darren, Corey & Cheri, Philip, Kevin & Sarah, Jeff, Andrew & Lauren, Andrea & Devin, Brianna, Haley & Mat, John, Andrew, Matthew and Tylar; and great grampa of Devan, Aimee, Vanessa, Nicolas, Robbie, Ryan, Chelsea, Chase, Jocelyn, Graeme, Spencer, Aarron, Emma, Lila, Addison, Kenley, Ava, Eden and a new baby on the way. Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his brothers, Bill and Jerry and their families and sister-in-law Grace and the Brown family. Friends were received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Ave, Georgetown, 905-877-3631 on Monday, November 7 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. and funeral service was held in the chapel on Tuesday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. Bruce was a hardworking farmer all his life. He loved the farm, his cows, the cottage, Aileen’s fresh baking, sports, a good game of cards, and his church. Bruce cherished his wife and family and loved our “small” family gatherings. Special thanks to Ruth Lee and Bruce’s many PSW’s for their care and support.
