Next phase of Big Dig ready to start
Mount Forest’s Big Dig part two is ready to roll.
Last year, two blocks of Mount Forest’s downtown core underwent a sidewalk to sidewalk reconstruction with the replacement of a wide variety of services including water, sewage, storm sewers, electrical, gas and other utilities.
Now, work is set to start on another block. Councillors here recently made note of the pre-construction meeting preparing for the spring start-up of the remainder of the project.
Work is slated to begin by the month’s end, and expected to wrap up by mid June.
Council noted the inspector’s office will be relocated to the Mount Forest Ford building.
Weekly site meetings will be each Monday to address concerns raised during the construction process.
