FERGUS – Christine de Nottbeck is taking the helm at the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games for the 2026 season.

De Nottbeck was voted president of the non-profit festival at the Dec. 4 annual meeting.

Joining her on the executive are vice president Steve Clark, director at large Ray Davies and directors Scott Russell, Kylie Burchat, Sue Baker and Tayler Black.

Members highlighted their accomplishments at the AGM, including some memorable moments from the 80th Anniversary, such as the Scottish Saturday night concert and highland games competitions. They also marked the launch of planning for 2026.

“The Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games is a world-class event honouring all things Scottish within our Canadian landscape,” de Nottbeck stated in a press release.

“The board of directors and I, along with our staff, are already hard at work with our volunteers and stakeholders to make the 81st festival another one to enjoy and remember.”

The 81st edition of the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games is slated for Aug. 7 to 9.
