BRUCEDALE – Guelph/Eramosa council has approved the purchase and installation of new 40km/h signs in Rockwood.

This follows a May 25 committee of the whole meeting where a committee approved traffic calming measures and the implementation of 40km/h speed limits in Rockwood.

The following roads will be receiving new signage:

– 2nd Line East for 900 meters north of Wellington Road 51;

– Oliphant Street;

– Victoria Street;

– Wellington Street;

– Walkerbrae Trail; and

– Promenade Road.

A section of Guelph Nichol Townline, from Highway 6 to 300 meters east of Highway 6, will also be reduced to 50km/h from 80km/h.

A total of 40 signs will be placed at a cost of $1,500 and will be funded through the operations safety budget.
