New Horizons Band celebrates 10th anniversary
The New Horizons Band Guelph celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a public concert on June 1 at Three Willows Church at 7pm.
The three bands showcased music that they worked on this past year.
New Horizons Band provides a fun and instructive programs for adults to learn and play music in a concert band setting. Part of a worldwide program, the Guelph program was started 10 years ago by Brent Rowan and a small cadre of about 20 musicians.
It has grown to over 100 members from the Guelph and surrounding area, with three concert band programs,
The bands provide a place for people with little or no music experience, those who have been musically inactive for a long time, and more experienced musicians who just love to play.
NHB Guelph also offers smaller ensembles.
