New curling rocks in play at Fergus Curling Club
Granite delivery - The new curling rocks arrived at the doors of the Fergus Curling Club this fall. Mark Cripps, left, and ice technician Barry March carried them into the club. The stones came from London, Ontario, where they were finished, but originated in Treford, Northern Wales. They are made from a particular granite that is found in that area, which is known for its hardness. Club members were delighted to start using the stones the next day and found they were a little different from the old ones, which were more than 65 years old.
