New CEO for Westario Power
The board of directors of Westario Power Inc. has announced that Lisa Milne was appointed as president and Chief Executive Officer of Westario Power effective Nov.17.
Mayor David Anderson recently read the announcement to council, as Westario Power Inc. serves Minto resident electrical needs.
Milne started with Westario in December 2005 as controller and was later promoted to chief financial officer in June. Since the retirement of Guy Cluff in August, Milne was acting general manager.
Milne has a diploma in business administration and received a certified general accountant designation.
Mayor David Anderson said he was aware of seven or eight applicants for the position, including one individual from Korea.
He said that through the interview process, she was found to have the best skills that were needed to do the job.
“I’ve had an opportunity to work with Lisa,” Anderson said.
He said Milne is a very forward-thinking young lady and very organized.
“I think she will do a fine job.”
