New bridge opens on 3rd line in Centre Wellington
Bridge is open - A new concrete bridge (24-P) over a tributary of the Carrol Creek is now open. The bridge, located on the 3rd Line West between Wellington Road 17 and Sideroad 5, was closed Jan. 11, 2013 due to serious structural and public safety concerns. The original bridge was built in 1930 and was an important link for area farmers and residents. Cost of the new two-lane bridge is $1,720,000 and it is expected to last another 90 years.
