NeighbourWoods wants to talk trees

The next NeighbourWoods tree talk is Oct. 7 from 7:30 to 9pm in the Harris Room at the Elora Centre for the Arts.

The theme is “working for forests across Ontario” with guest speaker Rob Keen, of Forests Ontario. Some talking points include:

- 50 Million Tree Program;

- Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program;

- The Ontario Envirothon;

- Ontario Heritage Tree Program, which helps identify Ontario’s notable trees for recognition and collection; and

- Forest Stewardship Council. A label that identifies products made from sustainable forests.

The seminar is free to members and $5 for new visitors.
