GUELPH – Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute music students raised $1,900 for the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada in Puslinch with their Jan. 23 concert.

Vocal and guitar students performed Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill album from start to finish.

It was a high-energy show in the high school’s packed auditorium, with students gathering in front of the stage to dance and sing along throughout the concert.

Vocal teacher Lane Osborne highlighted the benefits of teens studying music, including “learning to use their talents for the greater good and developing profound levels of empathy in ways that only music education can uniquely teach them. And in our world, it’s what’s needed now more than ever.”
