Museum hosts themed events

Every Wednesday afternoon in July and August the county museum will have weekly themed events from 1 to 4pm.

Start with a picnic on the lawn or in the garden and then take part in drop-in activities, meet or guests or just have fun.

On July 15, Blackthorn Productions will offer an afternoon Medieval Festival and Heraldry Workshop.

On July 22, the Elora Puppets present The Frog Prince (register in advance at 846-0916 for puppet-making workshop).

On July 29 there will be a Barbie birthday party tea –call to register in advance and favourite dolls are welcome.

Aug. 5 sees all things butterfly related, with crafts and tours of the butterfly garden, as well as suggestions for starting one.

On Aug. 12, the focus is corn – a native grain – an afternoon of all things made from corn as well as a sample of this year’s crop. On Aug. 10 is the return to last year’s favourite event – papermaking.

The simple pleasures program ends Aug. 26 with a good-bye to summer tea hosted by Elora tea expert Shelley Carter. Regular admission rates will apply and some events have limited participation and require registration, so register in advance.
