MP gives graduation gift to Palmerston student
Congratulations – Perth-Wellington MP John Nater surprised Palmerston’s John Portelance on June 24 with a certificate congratulating him on his graduation. Portelance, right, graduated from Grade 8 at North Perth Westfield Elementary School in Listowel and will be attending Norwell District Secondary School in the fall. Nater and Portelance first met at the North Wellington Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids’ Sake event in Mount Forest about six years ago, and any time Nater is in town for an event Portelance makes a point of catching up with him.
“I heard he was coming to the tree planting today and wanted to do something special for him,” said Nater.
