Moving type is gone from townships signs
The moving type on Centre Wellington’s electronic message signs has disappeared.
Parks and recreation director Andy Goldie said on June 11 any moveable type has been removed, and will not reappear.
At a previous council meeting when council considered electronic signs, councillors noted the bylaw states messages can be flashed on the signs, but moving type is a distraction and is not permitted.
However, a day later a reporter noticed the sign at the Sportsplex in Fergus had a website listing that was moving right to left under its messages.
Goldie said township signs now conform to bylaws.
