Mount Forest woman charged in stabbing

MOUNT FOREST – A local woman has been charged in connection with a stabbing here last week.

Wellington County OPP officials say police were called to a residence on Egremont Street in Mount Forest on April 6 at about 11pm.

“It was reported that a person was threatened with an edged weapon and that the suspect had fled the area,” police stated in a press release.

One hour later, at about 12am on April 7, emergency crews were called to a residence on Albert Street in Mount Forest.

Police say a person there “had been stabbed and had suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries.”

Amber Joan Runstadtler, 31, of Mount Forest, was charged with:

  • assault causing bodily harm;
  • assault with a weapon;
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
  • two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm; and
  • two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

She was held for a bail hearing.
