Mount Forest man charged with impaired driving causing death

WELLINGTON NORTH – A Mount Forest man is now charged with impaired driving causing death in a crash over three months ago that claimed the life of a Mount Forest woman.

Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 6, south of Mount Forest, on Feb. 6 (a Monday) at about 1pm.

Police say two SUVs had collided and that both drivers had serious injuries.

“A 48-year-old female from Mount Forest was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced deceased,” police stated in a press release at the time.

“A 46-year-old male from Mount Forest was airlifted to a trauma centre with life threatening injuries.”

On May 15, police announced that Craig Kaluza, 46, of Mount Forest, was charged with impaired driving causing death.

He is to appear in Guelph court on June 13.
