Mount Forest Lions Splash Pad expected to open in coming weeks

MOUNT FOREST – Get ready to have a splash here in the coming weeks.

Wellington North’s community recreation coordinator Mandy Jones said “we are very excited about the addition of the new Mount Forest Lions Splash Pad to our community.”

The splash pad is located at 326 Wellington Street E., Mount Forest at Lion Bill Moody Park.

Jones adds “the splash pad offers many spray features and is accessible to all ages and abilities.”

“Our community has been very generous in their support of this project and are continuing their fundraising efforts.”

“The Mount Forest Lions Club has been instrumental in their support and dedication to the project and have led the fundraising efforts.”

She adds “Our goal is to have the splash pad open in the coming weeks for residents and visitors to enjoy, with a grand opening celebration taking place early next summer.”

Jones stated the cost of the splash pad will be in excess of $200,000.

As to its history, Jones noted the first meeting of the Mount Forest Aquatic Ad-Hoc Committee was held on February 27, 2018.
