Motorcyclist dead, driver injured in crash north of Guelph

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – A motorcyclist is dead and the driver of a car seriously injured following a collision here on Tuesday night.

Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to the crash, north of Guelph at the intersection of Highway 6 and Wellington Road 38, on Sept. 20 at about 8:45pm.

“Initial reports indicated that a motorcycle and a sedan had collided and that there were serious injuries,” police stated in a press release.

Police say the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at scene, while the driver of the car was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The OPP later identified the deceased motorcyclist as Brian L. Jolley, 47, of Fergus.

The road was closed for hours and the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
