MOOREFIELD – Bells jingle, horse’s hooves clop, tractor and truck engines rumble and Santa “ho-ho-ho’s” during Moorefield’s annual Santa Claus Parade.
But things will look a little different this year, with lights shining a little brighter as the parade makes its way through town after dark instead of in the early afternoon, as it has in the past.
This year the parade takes place on Dec. 6, beginning at the old Murray Group yard (83 McGivern St. – across from Moorefield Tire) at 7pm.
Parade lineup will begin between 6:15 and 6:30pm at the yard.
The parade is organized by the Optimist Club of Moorefield, and participants will have the chance to take photos with Santa afterwards at the Moorefield Optimist Hall (13 Ball Ave.).
“Each year jolly old Saint Nick visits our little village,” Optimist officials state, and “young and old alike look forward to the floats, lights and a glimpse of the big man himself.”
The Optimists will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items at the Optimist Hall.
For more information or to enter a float in the parade, contact the Optimists at contact info@moorefieldoptimist.ca or call Mark Koster at 519-404-4963.
