Mohawks compete in Chuck Miller Classic

On June 6 the Centre Wellington  Tyke 1 Mohawks went to Guelph for the Chuck Miller Classic Tournament.

Friday night they faced the Oshawa Blue Knights. Keira Healey and Fraser Clark each  scored three goals, Nicholas Leader scored two and Brinley Wilson also scored one for a final of 9-4 over the Blue Knights.

Saturday morning the Mohawks were back in Guelph for an 8am start against the Windsor Warlocks. Wyatt Marsland and Nathan Long each scored two goals, Griffin Mackie and Ryan McDougall also each added one to the score board. The Mohawks won their second game 6-3 against Windsor.

Saturday afternoon Mackie was the lone scorer in a 7-1 loss to the Clarington Gaels.

The Mohawks worked hard and earned a chance to play for the bronze medal Sunday morning against the Whitby Warriors.

Mackie started the scoring off, with goals also from Marsland and Joseph Columbus. Whitby won the bronze with a score of 5–3.  Minding the net all weekend was Ethan Lawrence.
