Locals will soon have an idea what the proposed Harris Street development in Rockwood will look like.

Last week Guelph-Eramosa council authorized its lawyer to prepare an agreement that will allow Charleston Homes to build two model homes along Jolliffe Avenue.

Andrew Mulder, manager of land development and planning, said Charleston will “make their best efforts” to enter a subdivision agreement with the township and register its phase one plan “as soon as possible.”

Last June council agreed to remove the holding provision from a 40-acre property off of Harris Street, which Charleston Homes plans to transform into a 258-unit development including single detached and semi-detached homes, as well as townhouses.
