Town council here has agreed to purchase a parcel of land in Clifford for future park expansion purposes.

Council agreed to purchase roughly two acres from Gerald Buhrow for $25,000.

The land is located beside the ball field in John Hobelman Rotary Park. A staff report notes the land is currently zoned natural area, which would restrict its development potential.

The report  indicates Mayor George Bridge has spoken to representatives of the Great Lakes Truck Club who are interested in using the parcel during their annual show in Clifford.

“Both Clifford Homecoming and the truck show may be interested in contributing to the cost of buying the land,” the report suggests.

Bridge said the purchase is “going to really help the park continue to develop.”
