Minto Mad Dogs U14 Rep win Palmerston tournament in OT
Tourney winners – The Minto Mad Dogs U15 Rep team won a tournament in Palmerston on Dec. 4 despite injuries to several players. The team played with only nine skaters and a goalie against Mount Forest Rams and Drayton Defenders.They also beat Mount Forest, but lost to Drayton. One skater came back mid-day for the last game against Walkerton Capitals, a team with 15 large skaters and two goalies.
“It didn’t look good for the Dogs,” team officials noted.
The Walkerton team was up 3-1 after the second but the Mad Dogs fought back to tie it up in the third and force the game into overtime. The Mad Dogs ended up winning less than 30 seconds into overtime.
