HARRISTON – Minto’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) committee welcomes all to celebrate Indigenous culture on Sept. 25 from 6 to 8pm at the Harriston-Minto Community Complex, 111 George St. S. in Harriston.

This is the next event in the “Cultural Connections: A Diversity Learning Series” that aims to educate and celebrate Minto’s diverse community, officials say.

The event will feature stories and music of Christin Dennis, a Chippewa knowledge carrier, flautist, storyteller and artist.

Afterwards, all will be invited to enjoy sweetgrass ice cream provided by Naagan by pioneer/educator of Progressive Indigenous Cuisine Zach Keeshig.

Tickets are $10, which includes an ice cream treat and supports the continued efforts of Minto’s DEI Committee.

Space is limited so register by Sept. 17. To purchase tickets visit town.minto.on.ca/calendar or purchase in-person at the Minto administrative office, Launchit in Harriston, Clifford Country Store or the Palmerston Home Hardware.

For help registering, call 519-338-2511 ext 242 or email erin@town.minto.on.ca.
