Minto Fire gears up for Touch a Truck

Touch a Truck is coming back to the Town of Minto for the fourth year in a row.

With another stellar line-up of activities planned, the organizing committee hopes to have the biggest event yet.

On June 18 over 35 exhibitors will make their way to Minto Auto Centre on Elora Street South in Harriston from 10am to 2pm.

Participants will be provided with a safe environment where they can climb aboard a wide variety of vehicles, honk the horns, turn on the flashing lights and “imagine that they are in the driver’s seat,” organizers state.

Along with exhibitors there are many other family and children’s activities.

There will be two bouncy castles, a nine hole mini golf course, a make-and-take craft area, a monster truck mini demonstration, a family barbecue, kids’ face painting, a scavenger hunt, airbrush tattoos, and a corn box play area.

Special guests this year include the Minions and Crazy Cravings. The Minions will be attending, with a meet and greet from 11am to 1pm. Crazy Jeff from Crazy Cravings Ice Cream Truck will also be on site with a do-it-yourself ice cream sundae truck.

The committee has a special surprise planned for all children at 12pm sharp.

Minto Fire will be on scene with a variety fire trucks, and will be barbecuing lunch for everyone.

“We love [Touch a Truck] because we get to showcase our trucks and meet the families in our community,” says Minto Fire Chief Chris Harrow.

Parking is available at the Harriston arena with a shuttle to the event every half hour.
