Minto council paid $211,000 in 2025

MINTO – Council here was paid a total of $211,698 in 2025 – an increase of about $22,000 over 2024.

This year’s report included council expenses from November 2024 to November 2025 and was passed at a March 17 meeting with no comments from council. 

The base salaries of council members include:

– $34,344 for the mayor;

– $22,588 for deputy mayor; 

– $21,479 for councillors.

 All council members were paid additional funds for meetings, events and mileage.

Mayor Dave Turton was paid a total of $37,824, about $1,500 less than last year. He is also the only council member seeing a decrease in his earnings. This is mainly due to Turton receiving $900 in mileage claims in 2024, compared to $182 this time around.

Deputy Mayor Jean Anderson was paid a total of $27,319.

The remaining council member incomes include:

– Ed Podniewicz, $26,022;

– Judy Dirksen, $26,879;

– Geoff Gunson, $28,602;

– Paul Zimmerman, $30,585; and

– Ron Elliott, $34,464.

Zimmerman had the biggest increase from 2024, with an additional $5,500. 

In 2024, Minto council was paid a total of $189,493.
