Minto Arts Gallery presents Where the Earth Breathes
HARRISTON – Moumita Roychowdhury is a self taught artist and art instructor based in Kitchener-Waterloo who will be joining the Minto Arts Gallery for the month of April.
Her work is deeply inspired by the colours, moods and emotional resonance of nature, expressed through watercolours, acrylics and pastels.
She teaches across several local arts organizations and has gained recognition through numerous live art competitions, including ArtBattle and The Brush Off, as well as juried exhibitions across Ontario.
Her murals appear throughout Waterloo Region, and her artwork is held in private collections both in Canada and internationally.
As an award winning artist – including the 2020 Waterloo Region Record Readers’ Choice gold award for Best Local Visual Artist – Roychowdhury continues to explore the dynamic interplay between nature and human emotion, working quickly with bold, expressive colours to capture mood, motion and the stories revealed through faces and landscapes, officials say.

Join Roychowdhury and Minto Arts members in the gallery at the opening night reception on April 9 from 6:30 to 8pm.
The show will run from April 9 to 30 at the Minto Arts Gallery on the third floor of the Harriston Library (88 Mill St., Harriston).
The gallery hours include:
– Tuesdays, 6 to 8pm;
– Wednesdays, 2 to 4pm;
– Thursdays, 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm;
– Fridays, 2 to 4pm; and
– Saturdays, 11am to 1pm.
