Minto Arts Council hosts Gailbraith exhibit

The Minto Arts Council welcomes the works of Sylvia Galbraith, a recognized professional photographer and teacher whose Silver Creek Photography studio is in Fergus.

The show of Gailbrath’s work runs from March 3 to April 30 at the Harriston library. An artist’s reception, including a short artist’s talk, will take place March 5 at 1pm.

Galbraith’s Main Streets and Memories collection is a series of photographs of people and places; an observation of daily life through a lens of small towns in Ontario.

Officials say the photos show a connection between the past and present, how things have changed, but also how history repeats itself in daily life; and they also evoke a sense of the differences between individual towns, along with their inherent similarities.
