Minto approves 3rd Line bridge tender
Hanna and Hamilton Construction Ltd. has been awarded the tender for replacement of a culvert on Minto’s 3rd Line.
Council approved acceptance of the company’s bid, which at $157,775 was the lowest of four submitted, at the Aug. 5 meeting. The bid is nearly $100,000 lower than the highest bid of $246,667, submitted by Owen King Limited General Contractors.
The town had budgeted $210,000 for the project but treasurer Gordon Duff explained the budgeted figure also includes engineering and permit costs, which are not included in the tender price.
The province will be contributing $100,000 to the project through a Small Rural and Northern Municipal Infrastructure Fund – Capital Program grant.
