Playoff action - Minto 81’s netminder Ben Nelson was between the pipes for a 4-3 loss to the Ripley Wolves in WOAA Senior AA semi-final playoff action on March 1. The 81’s trail the Wolves two games to none in the series.

WELLINGTON COUNTY  - The Minto 81’s trail the Ripley Wolves two games to none in their WOAA Senior AA playoff series after weekend action.

On Saturday night, Minto travelled to Ripley and lost 6-0 despite  a great effort by goaltender Marc Williams.

Game two of the series was played on Sunday night in Palmerston, with Minto looking to even up the series.

However Ripley took game two by a score of 4-3 and a 2-0 series lead.

Ben Nelson was in net for the 81’s on Sunday, playing solidly despite the loss.

The 81’s look to get back into the series on Saturday night (March 7) when they travel to Ripley for game three of the best-of-seven series.  Game four is scheduled for 7pm on March 10 at 8:30pm in Palmerston.

Elora Rocks

After earning a first-round bye in the Senior A playoff bracket the Elora Rocks trail the Milverton Four-Wheel Drives three games to one.

Elora’s next action is a home game on March 6 at 8:30pm, with the next game set for March 7 in Milverton at 8:30pm
