Microsurfacing project underway on Wellington Road 29
WELLINGTON COUNTY - Microsurfacing of Wellington Road 29, from Wellington Road 18 working toward Wellington Road 124 in the Township of Centre Wellington and the Township of Guelph-Eramosa began on June 19.
The project is expected to take approximately sixbusiness days to complete. The work will be performed by Miller Paving Limited of Markham.
A press release from the County of Wellington engineering services - roads division notes the road will remain open, however, the traveling public can expect lane closures.
Delays are expected and the use of an alternate route is recommended.
Microsurfacing is a thin asphalt surface treatment mixture uniformly applied to the surface of the road to extend the useful life of the road by filling in any surface cracks to prevent further deterioration and help reduce other road distortions.
Roads department officials state it provides “a more cost-effective and environmentally conscious method, with little traffic disruption,” when compared to other road rehabilitation measures.
