METZGER, Sidney B. Peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Listowel Memorial Hospital, in his 91st year. Sidney, of RR 2, Wallenstein, was the beloved husband of Hettie (Bauman) Metzger for 66 years. Loved father of Mervin and Wilma Metzger of Heidelberg, Amos and Loreen Metzger, Clarence and Viola Metzger, all of RR 2, Wallenstein, Barbara and John Weber of RR 4, Listowel, James and Martha Metzger of RR 2, Wallenstein, Verna and Glen Shoemaker of Elmira, and Florence and Elmer Gingrich of RR 2, Alma. Lovingly remembered by 30 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Brother of Melvin Metzger, Alvin Metzger, Amos and Esther Metzger, and brother-in-law of Louisa Metzger. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Magdalena (Buehler) Metzger, a son, a grandson, and a great-grandson, all in infancy, brothers Edwin and Maryann, Urias and Louida, George and Rose, Elam, Henry and Melinda, sister Susannah and Abe Brubacher, and sisters-in-law Melinda (Mrs. Melvin) Metzger and Mary (Mrs. Alvin) Metzger. Friends and family called at his home, 6563 Sideroad 18, RR 2, Wallenstein, on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 1-5 and 6-8 p.m., and Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 1-6 p.m., where a family service was held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 9 a.m., then to Olivet Mennonite Meeting House for burial and public service.
